Apparently it was a hit too, because IDW is going very big on the Mirror Universe this fall. One of the most recent was from IDW, and imagined a Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover with the alternate realm. The theme never appeared on screen again, though it did pop up in other Trek tales. The mirror opposite of Trek’s standard Federation. It’s ranks are ruthless and cutthroat, and it’s nature warlike. In this “Mirror Universe” the Federation is an empire, one bent on galactic conquest. Originally debuting in the classic, original 1960’s show, the MU presents an alternate timeline to the one that fans know and love. Star Trek’s “Mirror Universe” has a pretty interesting history. Get ready for The Next Generation tale unlike any before.
